Springfield Roberts model 1861/1863

Rare Springfield Roberts rifle musket conversion model 1861/1863.

Caliber 58 percussion muskets were converted into 58 Roberts center fire. 5000 were done and these were delivered to the State of South Carolina who armed all 13 of its national guards with it.

Suffering heavy loss and breakage while in service, the survival rate was very low, so finding one is difficult and finding a nice one nearly impossible.
