WHITNEY snubnose
WHITNEY snubnose, manufactured between 1871 and 1879 with approximately 5.000 specimens, of which a part with the steel frame instead of brass. Gauge 38 RF, 5 shots, barrel of 1 1/2 or 3 inches (here the 1 1/2). Some are not marked, others are marked “Whitneyville”, and approximately 1.000 are marked “Eagle Co”. The button under the frame with before is used to free the axis of the cylinder.
It is a small weapon become rare nowadays.
The manufacturer called it “Model 2 1/2”.
