Smith & Wesson 1st model 2nd issue

Antique SMITH & WESSON 1st Model 2nd issue 22cal short 7 shot revolver tip up made 1864.

3 3/16" octagon barrel, bore has rifling & pits. Non fluted cylinder with patent dates. The brass frame has almost all the silver plating that has a lot of tarnish.

Nice rosewood grips no cracks or breaks just normal handling dings see pics.

Gun functions fine, all original and complete.

This is being sold as a collectible firearm made to fire black powder shells, will blow up if use smokeless powder, do not advise shooting this gun.

Smith & Wesson

Manufactured of 1860 to 1868, total production 115.000 specimens.

It is with seven shots caliber .22. It is the model 1, 2nd issue.

On the barrel one can see the dates of the patents: April 3 1858, July 5 1859, Dec. 1860.

Made 1860 to 1868, this revolver was made in 1862.

3 3/16" octagon barrel, non fluted.

Cylinder with the 3 patent dates 1855, 1859, &1860.

Has a lot of the silver finish still on, rosewood grips have most of the varnish still on.

This one is of 1864 !
