Smith & Wesson 28-2
The Smith & Wesson Model 28-2, .357 Magnum or better known as the Highway Patrolman was built on S&W’s “N” frame, same as the Model 27.
This Model 28 is a rarity and is what the collectors call a “double stamp”.
On the frame below the serial number “Mod 28-2” is double stamped.
This one has the four inch pinned barrel along the recessed cylinder. The barrel is stamped “Highway Patrolman .357 CTG”. Discontinued in 1986 this one, serial number N190862 was built in 1973, when S&W had high quality craftsmanship. 38 years old.
