James Barbar

Pair of George III silver mounted flintlock holster pistol by James Barbar, circa 1766.

15 1/4" overall with 9" round .62 caliber smoothbore barrels signed "Barbar" on the ribs and barrels proofed with the maker's mark as well as the London company marks, all at the breeches.

Completely silver mounted and with Herald's crest and monogram engraved on the thumb pieces.

The silver trigger guards bear John King's silversmith's mark and are date stamped for 1766.

The mounts are absolutely magnificent and crisp with perfect engraving.
