SHEFFIELD made Bowie knife with built in single shot percussion pistol. The approximate caliber is .26, the double edged blade with spear-point is ~ 8" long, the panels are made from steel in a way, that they appear to be stag horn. It is a very uncommon system I did not find in "Blades and Barrels" nor other books. The long spring is also hammer, and in cocked position it is about 1" over the piston. Pushing the round button backward the spring hits the cap/piston. On the ricasso is a partial readable inscription:
