Irish Percussion Double-Barrel Belt Pistol Marked D. Kilpatrick
48 cal., 3 1/4" bbl., bright finish, walnut chequered grips. Irish double-barrel, side-by-side percussion pistol. The sighting rib is boldly engraved with the maker's name "D. Kilpatrick" between the barrels. The octagon barrels have an under rib that supports a button-tip swivel steel ramrod. The pistol has a finely chequered, bag-shaped walnut stock with an inlaid silver thumb piece engraved with the initials "J.J.". The stock has an engraved butt cap with hinged trap. The receiver, tang, trigger guard, butt cap, and tang are engraved with skilfully executed scroll engraving. Birmingham proof marks are stamped on the bottom of both chambers and barrels. The pistol has a grey patina finish.
