D à Paris

D  à Paris !

But who is it?

SEE HERE

"D" in Paris is known in our world of collectors as the initial of Desaintes, who, after the accession of Louis XVI in 1774,

signed the pistols of the Guard of the Princes, his brothers: the Counts of Provence and Artois, future Louis XVIII and Charles X.

Very rare weapons if ever there were any, I know of three examples, and I'm surprised to see photos of mine!

Coming from the great connoisseur P. Riesek, I acquired it in 2015 from our friend JJB, for whom I worked at Qui est Qui.

These excellent photos must be from before... Here is one with the correct model of ramrod; the iron one was a "ersatz."
