Lefaucheux 1854
This Lefaucheux revolver is of Parisian manufacture, model 1854.
The LF 1855 is part of the first series, "Chinese hat" breech and very raised hammer crest.
Weapon probably from a case since the strap ring is missing.
Piece manufactured at 9 and 9 bis rue Lafayette in Paris.
Weapon with octagonal barrel in 9 mm most probably rifled with 4 grooves.
Date of manufacture most probably towards the end of 1856 or very beginning of 1857.
Merieux in Poitiers is the one who marketed the weapon.
Lower arm of the stock held by 2 screws to the frame, it will be necessary to wait for the LF 307x to see the third appear.
Loading door without pinching lip.
Single Action mechanism (cocking by the hammer).
Stops on the outer rim of the cylinder.
The diameter of the breech is approximately 4 mm larger than that of the barrel
