Dutch model 1891

This is a Dutch M1891 revolver Developed by East Indies Small arms Arsenal and most of them were made at the “Pyrotechnische Werkplants” factory in Surabaya, Java.

All of the M1891 revolvers were issued to the Dutch armed forces and Police deployed in East Indies. Total contract was delivered in three parts and this revolver ser. # 7137 was delivered by Vickers of Birmingham which was given a third part of this contract. Vickers placed manufacturing with different subcontractor and after completion revolvers were inspected but all of them were rejected due to the poor quality.

The entire contract was reworked by FN in Belgium and then finally delivered to the East Indies administration.
