Starr 1858
Cal. .44 long Colt
STARR 1858 double-action revolver, originally percussion and converted onto .45 Long Colt by a Belgian gunsmith.
The gun received a special trigger system: when the small dark lever that is visible behind the trigger is pushed upwards, the trigger will only bring the hammer to full cock. The hammer is released by squeezing the front trigger further against the small rear one that is visible in the rear portion of the trigger guard. This small rear trigger is a hair trigger.
If the small lever is left down, the gun works as a common double-action.
