Colt 1863 Barney
Le successeur du Third Model Dragoon, le 1860 Army se range en troisième position dans la production totale parmi les pistolets à percussion de colt, et était l’arme de prédilection des chefs de l'armée de l’union pendant la guerre civile.
Ce revolver a été fabriqué en 1863 et plus tard le canon a été raccourci à sa longueur courante de 1 ½ pouces approximativement et le levier de chargement enlevé sans remplir le trou. La crosse a été remodelée en tête d’oiseau. Le dessus du canon est marqué "BARNEY". L’armature porte trois vis pour le placement d’une crosse carabine. Le barillet est gravé avec la scène navale de la bataille du Texas et identifié par le numéro de série partiel "7388" et deux initiales d’inspecteur principal "D". L’initiale "C" d’inspecteur secondaire est marquée sur le dessus du fer en arrière de la garde de détente en laiton.
Successor to the Third Model Dragoon, the 1860 Army ranks third in total production among Colt's percussion guns, and was the chief sidearm of the Union Army during the Civil War.
This revolver was manufactured in 1863 and subsequently the barrel was shortened to its current length of approximately 1 1/2 inches and the loading lever removed without filling the hole. The backstrap has been reshaped to a bird's head type grip. The top of the barrel is marked "BARNEY". Three screw frame cut for a shoulder stock. The cylinder is roll engraved with the Texas naval battle scene and marked with the partial serial number "7388" and two "D" sub-inspector initials. Single "C" sub-inspector initials are marked on the top of the iron back strap and the brass trigger guard.
