Remington New model 38 centerfire
Rare Remington New model revolver conversion.
This is a military conversion to 38 centerfire.
In 1875 the navy gave Remington a contract to convert 1000 calibre 36 of their percussion revolvers to 38 CF, improved design. This means that is has an ejector rod and loading gate.
The majority of these 1000 were new models. (As is this one).
After transformation some of them were stamped with anchor, most were not. (Who knows why).
