Winchester Model 61
Slide action rimfire rifle fed by an under-barrel tubular magazine with a loading port in the magazine.
Chambered in .22 short/long/long rifle, .22 WRF and .22 Winchester Magnum.
A smoothbore version for .22 bird-shot cartridges was also available.
Produced from 1932 to 1963 with a production run of approximately 342,000 units.
Early models were available with either an octagon or round barrel.
The standard barrel length was 24”, however barrels up to 29 inches were available as an option.
Sights were of the standard V notch type, adjustable for elevation, with a fixed front blade.
There was an optional tang sight available on .22 WMR and .22 Win Mag.
In the 1950's the receivers were grooved to accept scope mounts.

The Lyman aperture sight is probably from the 1950's
The safety is a cross-bolt type mounted at the front of the trigger bow. There is a release for the slide at the back edge of the trigger bow. The large screw on the side of the action is for the take-down feature.
It is referred to as a “Take-down” model but much of the mechanism is exposed when broken down.

Les premiers modèles étaient disponibles avec un canon octogonal ou rond.
La longueur standard du canon était de 24 ", toutefois les canons jusqu'à 29 pouces étaient disponibles en option.
Les organes de visée étaient du type standard avec entaille en V, réglable en altitude, avec une lame avant fixe.
Il y avait une visée sur la langue du canon facultative disponible pour les .22 WMR et .22 Win Mag.
Dans les années 50 les récepteurs ont été rainurés pour accepter des bâtis de lunette.

Le dispositif à dioptre de Lyman date probablement des années 50.
La sûreté est un type de levier latéral monté à l'avant de la garde de détente. Il y a un dégagement pour le bord de glissière au fond de la garde de détente. La grande vis sur le côté de l'action sert au démontage en deux pièces.
Elle est citée comme "Take down" et une grande partie du mécanisme est exposé une fois l’arme en deux morceaux.
