Single brass bead sight on the smooth rib.

Features detailed French scroll engraving with scalloped and foliate designs.

The plates are marked "Brun" and "au/Donjon" on the left and right respectively.

The barrels are fitted to the forearm with a single lightly engraved wedge.

The buttstock is a unique side-folding design with a smooth steel buttplate.

There are records of a Gallay C. Brun active in the Donjon area of France until at least 1853.

Includes a brass tipped horn ram rod. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches.

Brun Jacques Arquebusier at Donjon (Allier) filed a patent in 1850-1858 for an improvement to the tilt-action rifle.
