Lefaucheux - Rieger
Copy S&W with the mode of Liège manufacture (K*)
Mark LEFAUCHEUX street of Vivienne in PARIS (retailer).
GG
Lefaucheux, 37 street vivienne Paris ...... it is not Eugene Lefaucheux since it leaves the 37 in 1856 definitively. (Company E.LEFAUCHEUX AND Co. in 1860)
It is Mrs. Veuve Casimir Lefaucheux which manages the store of the 37 after the death of her husband.
With its death on January 2, 1863, it is her daughter, married to Laffiteau, which inherits the store with the authorization to use name LEFAUCHEUX (Without E. in front of, initial reserved for Eugene).
In 1869 the daughter dies, without children, it is thus Laffiteau which takes the continuation.
In 1876 Rieger takes the continuation of Laffiteau, and about 1905 (I does not know the exact date) the house is repurchased by Modé.
On this revolver S&W (Of which I don’t know the date of manufacture) I don’t see a ELG but a spangled letter thus after January 1877.
This revolver thus was bought by Rieger in Belgium and was marketed to the 37 street Vivienne (still valid Address in 1898, seen on a postal letter).
The address of Modé in 1914 is to the 91 street Richelieu (Seen on an invoice).
The building of the 37 street Vivienne is destroyed in 1920 to make place at the building current “Minerve”.
