PIGNET

Here is a weapon that is at least original and that was probably offered to an army since it bears control marks, in particular an M surmounted by a star in a vertical octagon. The appearance is certainly military.

The total length is 137 cm, the smooth barrel measures 58 cm long, the caliber is around 17 mm.

The mechanism is entirely located in the mount, there is no lock.

It is the curious part with a circle that acts as a hammer to strike the primer placed on the chimney.

A member of the team with excellent eyesight suggests the name "Pignet": we know of a Pignet, arquebusier in Paris (rue de Seine) in 1830, which could indeed correspond.

I also seem to see "14", but my eyesight is no longer good...

The happy owner did not deign to respond to our request to pass a chalk over this place in order to better highlight the inscription. It's a shame.
