Rouchouse

Jacques ROUCHOUSE 1885 pocket-size repeating pistol, cal. 6mm Merveilleux, 73mm barrel inscribed with MERVEILLEUX,  5-shots.

Probably the forerunner of the better known GALOIS pistols. Squeezing the front part  pulls the barrel backwards closing the action, and on the right side the spring with firing pin go in position, as visible on the third picture.

A little pull and the shot breaks.  On the left side is ring to pull down for loading.

Slightly engraved and kept in the white as fashionable during the time.

Huon’s book Les Pistolets Automatiques Français, page 12.

Many thanks to "HORST HELD" for te pictures.
