The 1833 pistol : LOADING

My pair of New Toys (not new but superb barrels).

Small questions about the 1833 1st and type 2 pistol:

-Why is the loading rod on one of the two Pistols pierced?

- How do you use "Correctly" the pod?

I won't keep you waiting!

Answer 1 in pictures (for the rare Copies that still have the complete parts!!!).

Without the "Key", impossible to screw the bullet puller

If it is not complete, impossible to use the "bullet puller"!!!

The rest.

Note that this Pistol has a rifled barrel with micro grooves (48) to prevent the powder charge from getting caught in it. We fill the "pod" with its charge, then we "cap" the barrel of the weapon (nose down) then while keeping the pod at the bottom we remove it so that the charge occupies the chamber, Without forgetting to "Tip the weapon", then we remove it to introduce stuffing paper, we grease the mouth with a mixture of tallow and beeswax, we position the bullet (cal 17.15mm) forced with a mallet and we stuff everything up to the chamber.

A regulatory primer, and that's it.

All that remains is to find the opponent, "Warlike Preferably".

(***) Do not forget to hold the rod firmly and especially turn the pistol over so that the charge remains in the powder chamber .....!!! Shake the rod lightly!!!

Good research.
