DEVISME Jean-Louis François

Devisme model 1860 percussion revolver (internal hammer), civilian pocket model.

Caliber: 7 mm

4 grooves on the right

6 shots

Black bronze finish

Trimmings engraved with scrolls

Markings: on the cap "Devisme Bte"

On the cylinder an oval with the crowned initials DV

On the frame an oval with crowned DV and the serial number 1813

PS: I am also attaching a photo for comparison with a first type Devisme (1855) with external hammer (for military use). The latter bears an AF marking for Auguste Francotte and is therefore a subcontracted part.

DEVISME Jean-Louis François

A rather nice Devisme 1860 (with internal hammer) “rejuvenated” by me (saved from the beginning of rust).

Caliber 12 mm

Length 330 mm

Barrel length 160 mm

Weight 1100 gr

Cylinder 44 mm

Markings:

Devisme in Paris (on the upper band)

Devisme bte 1285 (to the right of the frame, in front of the cylinder)

DV crowned in an oval on the lower band of the frame

2 unreadable punches on the cylinder.

More interesting, a view comparing an 1855 from the very first production (with external hammer) and the 1860 with internal hammer.

Significant differences in the shape of the front of the frame and the characteristics of the mechanism.
